Markerstudy Group awarded AVUK Corporate Partnership Award

AVUK

Auditory Verbal UK (AVUK), an award-winning charity that supports deaf babies to learn to listen and speak with Auditory Verbal therapy, has awarded Markerstudy Group its first Corporate Partnership Award in recognition of their efforts in fundraising and awareness.

Markerstudy Group has partnered with AVUK since 2022 and in that time has helped raise £55,000 to support the charity’s mission to ensure all deaf children have the same opportunities in life as their hearing peers. The Group has launched successful customer point of sale donation functions through its Lancaster Insurance and Brightside brands, and colleagues have donated time and skills through its Charity Hackathon initiative and also taken part in AVUK’s annual fundraiser ‘Loud Shirt’ Day. Further inspired by the work of AVUK, a number of Markerstudy colleagues have taken on their own active challenges, such as running marathons and half-marathons, to raise further funds.

Lizzie Smith-Foreman, chief marketing, communications and sustainability officer at Markerstudy Group, comments: “We’re thrilled to have been chosen as the first recipient of this award. Our priority is supporting and empowering our charity partners to help drive positive change and this recognition is a real testament to our colleagues throughout the Group who have championed this. We have a fantastic relationship with the team at AVUK and we’re looking forward to seeing where our partnership takes us in the future.”

Auditory Verbal UK Chief Executive Anita Grover said: "We were delighted to present this award in recognition of Markerstudy Group’s creative approach and outstanding commitment to supporting deaf children. Auditory Verbal UK wants all deaf children to have the same opportunities in life as their hearing peers but at present more than 90% of the 7,200 deaf children in the UK that could benefit from Auditory Verbal therapy are unable to access it. Markerstudy’s point-of-sale donation initiative and employee-led fundraising has raised significant funds to increase access to this life-changing programme as well as raise awareness and understanding of what deaf children can be achieve with early and effective support.”
