Together with our colleagues, we are committed to making a positive difference to our local communities.
We pride ourselves in providing a safe and inclusive environment for all, as well as facilitating skill development and encouraging colleagues to participate in volunteering opportunities and access wellbeing resources.
Social inclusion and wellbeing
Our aim is to build a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace creating a sense of belonging for everyone, driving forward meaningful and positive change. We value differences and people from all walks of life and, together, we’ll build a stronger community. Our focus on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEI&B) and wellbeing empowers the colleague voice, encourages social connection and collaboration, and enables everyone to thrive in an inclusive environment.
We’re proud of the contributions our colleagues have made to communities and to our chosen charities. Our charity partners include AVUK, Future First and our 2024 colleague-voted charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
We encourage our colleagues to take their volunteering day, participate in fundraising activities such as our annual charity challenge or FUNdraiser Week, or take advantage of Payroll Giving for a more efficient way to support their chosen charity.
We’re also proud of our customers, who in 2023, raised over £20,000 in online donations for our charity partner AVUK.
More
Earlier this year, 40 colleagues and members of our Senior Leadership team embarked on a 12-hour challenge, completing either a 26-mile or 13- mile hike of the Peak District. The team faced changeable weather and tricky terrain but completed the distance with big smiles on their faces!
The group collectively raised over £48,000 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
It’s important to us that our colleagues acquire and maintain the necessary skills, knowledge and behaviours to develop and grow their career at Markerstudy. Programmes such as Shooting Stars, our flagship development programme for leaders of the future; and our award-winning Apprenticeship programme, ALEX, supports the development, learning and growth of individuals within our Group. We also encourage our colleagues to use their skills and expertise for the greater good by participating in skills-based volunteering within our communities.
