Climate change is having a serious impact around the world and will only worsen if we do not collectively take action.
The UK, alongside other leading countries, has collectively committed to driving down its emissions and becoming Net Zero by 2050.
Markerstudy is committed to reducing its carbon emissions to achieve Net Zero. Whilst we are decarbonising, we are committed to offset what we produce and fund projects around the world that reduce, remove or prevent the release of Greenhouse Gases into the atmosphere.
By working together with our suppliers, we can share the responsibility of creating a more sustainable, ethical and responsible business ecosystem and drive positive change within our organisation and through our communities.
Our Net Zero Heroes encourage, share best practice, inform and create toolkits for colleagues to understand how they can contribute to our journey to Net Zero.
In 2023, we revised our target Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to those that are most relevant to our business, allowing us to dedicate more resource to achieving targets that are operationally relevant to Markerstudy. We will continue to refer to all 17 of the goals when making strategic decisions.
Partnerships and commitments
Tackling climate change is something we can’t do alone. To help us on our journey, we’ve partnered with a number of organisations that help us collect, analyse and understand our own emissions data. We’re also funding projects around the world that specifically reduce, remove or prevent the release of Greenhouse Gases into the atmosphere.
In 2023, we invested in a number of carbon offsetting projects with REDD+, a climate change mitigation solution that provide high quality conservation and sustainable forest management projects to enhance forest carbon stocks. To date we have funded projects that aim to protect rainforests, provide training and employment opportunities linked to forest management, educate local communities on conservation and environmental issues and support the maintenance of habitats across the world.
