Markerstudy volunteers create over 10,000 items in single day for local charity

Charity Boxathon Volunteers 9 (2)

4Louis provides memory boxes for families affected by death of baby or child

In a single day in July, over 60 volunteers from Markerstudy created more than 10,000 items for memory boxes for 4Louis, a Sunderland-based charity which supports people affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and the death of a baby or child.

The annual Charity Boxathon took place at Markerstudy’s Peterborough office, where colleagues supported 4Louis by making memory boxes and items that sit inside them. The memory boxes are delivered to hospitals around the UK, providing a special way for bereaved families to store their own meaningful items and remember their baby or child.

Volunteers were joined by Bob and Tracey McGurrell, the grandparents of Louis, the charity's namesake. Commenting on the day, Bob said:

“On behalf of all at 4Louis, I would like to convey my thanks and gratitude for all the support we received at Markerstudy in Peterborough.

“All the volunteers who took part were engaging, respectful and a credit to the company. They truly made a difference on the day and will allow us to support bereaved families in the very near future. Thank you so much to an incredible team!”

“Giving back to charities and good causes is something we are extremely passionate about,” said Emily Taylor, ESG engagement manager at Markerstudy. “4Louis is a brilliant charity that supports so many, so being able to help them in turn is something I’m very proud of.”
